Diame and Diarra, great signings, but there is one problem

I have to say, I have mixed emotions about our new signings. Before you all bite my head off thinking I'm some deluded fan thinking we are gonna sign Messi or something, just hear me out....

Diame and Diarra are both talented players, no doubt about it. My problem is where they fit in? They are both central defensive midfielders, to accompany our other CM's  Nolan, Noble, Collison, not forgetting Demel and O'brien who can also fill that role. So did we really need them both when we are severely lacking creativity I ask?

How on earth do these players fit into Big Sam's 'supposed' 4-3-3 is beyond me. Unless he is following on from last year and playing almost everyone out of position again!

Really hope this does not signal the end of Mark Noble's hammers career or make him a bench warmer for most of the season, as he was our outstanding player last year, but like I said, where do they all fit in? Nolan's place in the starting line up is more or less cemented under Sam, I think Collison will be sacrificed from the 11 a lot this season as he is not the same player since his injury in my opinion, plus Sam will rely on either Maiga, Vaz Te, O Neil and Taylor to fill the wide roles(the latter 3 i believe will struggle in premier league), and also Nicky Maynard informed us in the local rag that he was being trained as a winger! 4-4-2 definitely out the window then!!

Of course the transfer window isn't even closed yet, so we can expect a couple more signings, hopefully creative ones, but surely there has to be an outgoing....We have enough experienced players now, so Balance and Youth are essential in moving forward, though youngsters are clearly not trusted or relied on by Sam. The exits of Christian Montano and Brian Montenegro, plus Ravel Morrisson being loaned out prove that theory, as they all showed bags of potential but none of them given opportunity to prove their worth in the 1st team.

That's another story though, for now I am still intrigued to find out who else will be joining our latest acquisitions, exciting times ahead I hope so be sure to keep an eye on the site for all the latest news and always feel free to comment, we love to get thoughts and feedback from other fans.

We are West Ham, we stay United...
