Regular readers of this blog will know that I have been really harsh with Kevin Nolan, but I am more than happy to eat a large slice of humble pie as the most important thing is our promotion and not my credibility.
Even though I still think he could put in a lot more leg-work during the match, his presence rubs off on the players that are on the pitch. you could also tell that we really missed his captaincy during the Derby match and most of all we missed his goal-threat.
Kevin Nolan has now scored 3 match-winning goals. Those goals have gained us up to 9 points, without his 3 match winning goals we would have been a lot further down the table. Nolan has also came out and said that he is only going to get better. Players can't come out and say stuff like that and then not do it, especially when it's our captain.
Nolan will score us about 15 goals this season, maybe even more if we do well in this transfer window by bringing in players that are on the creative side. Nolan scores most of his goals by popping up in the right places at the right time inside the penalty box. So if we get a good winger, another goalscorer and another solid CB...then we would be laughing.
Things are only going to get better as the season goes on. COME ON YOU IRONS!!!!
